This week I spent writing a tune for the class. I wrote this song with the intention of it being driven by a fat drum groove and funky bass line. McWilson is on the vox spittin’ rhymes so I expect this song to flow really well when performed, given the funky, hip hop like tune. The bass line is a doozy, so let’s hope Peter can pull this one off, it’s definitely possible. The jam is based around 2 chords on the guitar, voiced like a piano: the Gsus4 and Cm/G triad. Small guitar licks at the heads and tails of sections fill out the song nicely. We met up for 2 hours this week and threw around some ideas and rehearsed the first part of a couple songs. Everyone was pleased with what Don and I had come up with.
